New Catterick Library financial services hub

Wednesday, 2nd October 2024

Darlington Credit Union is excited to announce the official launch of its new service hub in Catterick library which will be open every Thursday, 10am to 1pm, from 10th October 2024. As a member-owned financial cooperative Darlington Credit Union is dedicated to helping communities to build financial resilience by providing exceptional service and a range of financial products tailored to meet the needs of its members.

Darlington Credit Union is answering a call to action from North Yorkshire Council, Colburn Community Support and the former Mayor of Richmond, Ann Brewer, who sadly is no longer here to see her wishes come true.

Jo Price, Chief Executive of Darlington Credit Union said ‘Our mission is to empower our members with the financial tools and resources they need to achieve their goals. We believe that developing a positive savings habit can lead to a greater sense of wellbeing and reduced anxiety about money. As an Accredited Partner of Stop Loan Sharks we are able to offer an incentive of £25 to the first 100 people who open a Christmas Savings account at our new service hub and save a minimum of £25 between the 10th October and the 12th December (T&C’s apply).

‘As an affordable and fair lender we are here to help people make their dreams come true as well as support them through difficult times. Since the collapse of a number of ‘doorstep’ and ‘payday’ lenders many more people have fallen victim to unregulated lenders and loan sharks. We pledge to help as many people as we possibly can to borrow responsibly and ethically and where we are not able to lend we hope to help them to find other means of support.’

You can join Darlington Credit Union in person at its new service hub in Catterick Library on Thursdays between 10am and 1pm or at their main office in Darlington, 41 Tubwell Row, DL1 1PD on Monday, Wednesday or Friday between 9am and 12.30pm. If you prefer you can join online.
