I grew up in Darlington and have lived here all my life. Following my previous work in retail and office administration I started working for Darlington Credit Union in 2014. I thoroughly enjoy my job and the interactions I am able to have with all our members.
In my spare time I enjoy walking my Dog and spending time with my family and friends.
Having spent most of my career working within the local community, I’ve always enjoyed ,contributing. Being a part of DCU provides the opportunity to support local people in bettering their financial circumstances.
Outside of work I thoroughly enjoy walking the dogs and exploring our local Lake District. One of my long-term goals is to reach the peaks of all the Fells.
I grew up in the North East and joined Darlington Credit Union in 2019 after working for Thomas Cook for 10 years as a foreign exchange cashier. A role at DCU interested me due to the uniqueness of the customer values and the commitment to provide an excellent service to all our members.
My role in the company is varied and I like the fact that each day provides me with different challenges and tasks. I enjoy working with such a friendly team who support each other and enjoy that no two days at work are the same.
In my spare time, I enjoy long dog walks, reading and cooking, and I spend a lot of time with family and friends.
I have lived in Darlington since 1996 and joined Darlington Credit Union in December 2023, following a 30 year career in Corporate Banking.
My role is to work with existing and new Payroll Deduction partners, to enable more people to benefit from the not for profit, ethical, products we offer, and to improve their financial wellbeing.
Most weekends I can be found watching my two children (aged 16 & 13) at tennis or football matches. I serve as Treasurer for both a local tennis club and junior football club, and play competitively in the Dunlop Cleveland Tennis League.
After moving around the UK with my family most of my life, we moved to the North East where I attended college in Darlington. Here I studied business, economics, and law which led me to my university degree in International Business Management with Marketing.
I graduated in 2022 from Edinburgh and I am enjoying the challenge of working with DCU in a marketing and business development role and working on the banking hall counter and customer service too. My role includes aiding communications and social media admin, to raise awareness of Darlington Credit Union in the community. Working for Darlington Credit Union has highlighted for me the good work they do for the North East and local communities; I am extremely proud to work for DCU and with such a friendly and fun team.
Outside of work, I enjoy creative activities such as art and music events. Exploring new places is also something I enjoy.
I am currently the newest member of the DCU team after joining in February 2024.
After a career in both the retail and retail banking sectors I was interested in a role at DCU due to the ethics and community values that the organisation holds. It’s a great place to work where no two days are the same.
When I’m not working, I love to spend time with my time with family and friends and going on long walks with our westie Ted.
I currently study Criminology, English Language and Sociology at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form and I joined the DCU team in August 2024. In my spare time I like to play football and spend time with family and friends.
I am currently the youngest member of the DCU team and I began working here in January 2024. Whilst attending a local secondary school, in my spare time I enjoy playing rugby and spending time with my little sister.
After working 36 years in financial services, I retired early and moved from Leeds to live in North Yorkshire in 2020. I originally joined the DCU Board in October 2022 and then became employed by DCU as Company Secretary in 2024.
It's great to be part of a team that are committed to helping our members within our common bond area.
When I’m not working, I love to spend time walking my Springer Spaniel on the North Yorks Moors.
